The first public cemetery in Buenos Aires, it was inaugurated in November 1822, and is the final resting place for many of Argentina’s most relevant historical figures, such as the most famous, Eva Peron. The cemetery houses 4,800 mausoleums ranging from the old, forgotten, and dilapidated to artistic monuments featuring a broad range of architectural styles, and crafted from some of Argentina’s most prominent artist.
