When you first lay eyes upon the Metropolis II installation it conjures up visions of a band of inventive, mechanically inclined 12 year old boys who have rummaged and pillaged toy chests, garages, and the closest hardware store to build their own city. One might even consider this a large-scale erector set. On further inspection you will find this installation by artist Chris Burden to be quite complex and intricate. This is a living, breathing sculpture which depicts the energy, chaos, excitement, and synchronicity of a major city with the imagination of a child. We have found it to be quite a delight, and think you will to.
